Elevating to a four-year university in 1959, Hanyang University has expanded its educational range to law, establishing College of Law. More than 50 years of growth and change have shaped the character and reputation of Hanyang Law. Since the beginning of the 21th century, the Korean government has tried to adopt a new “law school” system in order to reform the existing legal education system. In 2009, Hanyang University School of Law was inaugurated as one of the 25 Law Schools accredited by the Ministry of Education. Hanyang Law inherits and builds upon the honorable traditions which the original College of Law has nurtured and cherished since 1959. Hanyang Law’s alumni are working in every corner of the legal profession in Korea.
