The Faculty of Law is best known for its Civil Law education. Nevertheless, due to various changes and demands within the community, the faculty is now also paying more attention to Business Law, International Law and Islamic Law especially the Syariah Business Law. The faculty holds a number of expertise specializations, namely Administrative Law, Adat (Customary) Law, Business Law, Civil Law, Criminal Law, Environmental Law, International Law, Islamic Law, Land Law, Procedural Law and Taxation Law. In order to support the faculty's commitment to provide good quality education for these areas, lecturers of the faculty have at least a Master of Law degree. In order to maintain and improve the quality of its graduates, the faculty is supported by many units of special studies, such as the Unit of Humanitarian Law and Human Right Studies, the Unit of International Law Studies, the Center for Land Law Studies which is managed in cooperation with the National Agency of Land Affairs. Meanwhile, in order to provide the community with immediate social service, the faculty is also supported by the Center for Judicial Consulting and Assstance handling certain legal complaints from the community at a very cheap cost.
To provide a favorable intellectual atmosphere, the faculty issues an academic law journal "Mimbar Hukum" three times a year. The staffs of the journal always try to take efforts to make the journal contain current legal issues. The faculty also supports its students in publishing a law magazine "Mahkamah". The faculty holds a Master Degree Program for the following areas: Western Civil Law, International Law, Commercial Law, Adat (Customary) Law, Land Law, Environmental Law, and Law of Civil Procedure.
A Doctoral Degree program for these areas is also offered. The faculty also has a Master of Business Law and Constitutional Law program and Master of Notarial Affairs program. It plans to hold a Master program in the Syariah Business Law. In addition, the faculty also plans to open international classes for undergraduate and graduate programs.
